Great point, it does become harder as the board grows. Mainly for me in remembering any pairs, which is very easy on size 5-6, not so much when larger.

My thoughts too! Although... that leaves a little gap where some creatures might land in space before their planet is destroyed. Probably a small subset, but that'd still be large enough for the paradox to remain.
