"How many staircases do you want?" "Yes."
"I'm not your decipal, decimaster" -- Judas, probably
You know what really grinds my gears? When people use "decimate" because they're trying to be emphatic, but they're talking about a thing reduced by more than one tenth so it's actually an understatement.
Watch *Lower Decks*. Not because it is itself part of that 10% -- it's the best new Trek there is! -- but because it talks more about it. Technobabble, giant Spock, lizards, it's all there. Even random toy tie-in schlock:
The correct reaction would be for the generals to fulfill their real oath to the Constitution and immediately depose Hegseth and the rest of the Trump regime as the domestic enemies they are.
> No one put up a site to dox every single asshole who joked about that, or all the other many instances of right-wing violence done for political purposes, Indeed, WTF are we waiting for?!
"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites h...
That's how you know appeasement doesn't work. Delaying fighting back accomplishes fuck-all but putting you in a worse and worse strategic position.
Not gonna go to Facebook or Reddit out of principle, but I appreciate that third link! Oh yeah, that's right: I'd forgotten that my city doesn't have any Sinclair affiliates in it to begin with. I'm almost disappointed. None of the surrounding cities that do have Sinclair stations have any adverti...
How do you find out who advertises with them without watching the station? (Not a rhetorical question, BTW; I want to know the same info for my market but at this point I don't even have a working OTA TV.)
My house cost $100k, and that's also about the budget I have for a live-aboard boat.
> What do you do in a boat??? A boat like this one? You fuckin' live in it instead of a house.
I've been thinking of buying a ~40' sailboat like that (an older used one for <$100k, BTW), but it would be to live aboard full-time and become nomadic while either selling or renting out my house.
I'm guessing he's complaining about either damage from anchors or toxic effects of anti-fouling paint.
You'd be surprised how many owners of 40-foot "yachts" own them *instead of* houses and live aboard full-time in order to save money (among other lifestyle reasons).
Yeah, it's crazy how the actually-vibrant colors you get from having full RGB color intensity information makes the image look so much more modern than the kinda crappy and washed-out colors you'd see in photos from, say, a '70s 35mm "point-and-shoot" camera.
That's neat, you can even see which of the taller blades of grass were swaying in the breeze.
How to migrate your watch history, apparently: https://www.florianjensen.com/2024/08/21/how-to-migrate-from-plex-to-jellyfin/
What is this, a Deep Thought for ants?
What people think of when they hear the word "yacht:" The size of boat the whales are actually attacking: I know everybody wants to root...
> Those boats know what they did. I presume scraped some of their pod with propeller or something, they are revenging themselves. IIRC the current theory is that it's a game juvenile males started playing for fun. Also, sailboats and orcas are not like powerboats and manatees. The notion that the ...
I mean, at the time when turbo buttons were a thing (and I was a kid who didn't know much about computers yet), I incorrectly thought that too. My own computers never had one though, and I'd like to think that if one had, I would've eventually figured out that it worked opposite to how the label imp...
