Lol that comparison makes much more sense but never even crossed my mind! 🤣 Going by memory, I want to say it's denser than my mattress when it's in one piece, and much less dense when it's been bitten.

Owls would definitely support this type of social distancing device.

They're cute, and with them being seasonal guests, it makes them feel a little extra special when the photos start popping up again in my feeds. One of my favorite little owls! The Milky is a cool owl. I used to think it was a tad uggo, but I've since embraced its uniqueness. The pink eyelids supposedly act as little radiators to cool off a bit. I'll see if I can find something to post about them soon.

If anyone claiming to be progressive ends up in charge again anytimes soon, they better not act short on ideas on what needs a major overhaul. Things like this or Democrats being fine with Republican immigration control better not fly under the radar anymore.

Oh yeah! If any of you have never messed with these guys, they're packed so dense with fibers! It's like when they vacuum seal a foam mattress. 😄

A little higher in the fiber than your typical kebab though! ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/ee084e55-c536-4a9f-88aa-3bac920c79d7.gif)

Can you clarify/circle which things you are referring to? Not trying to be dense, but they all just look to be in people's hands to me. 😊

I'm not exactly how accurate it is but I hear some of these little guys come from so far north that this may have been the first time they have ever encountered a human. That would probably make the experience all the more crazy for them!

Owl Tail on a Cattail From [Lisa M Jones](https://www.facebook.com/groups/741298672623286/permalink/24711983835128101/) > The Long-eared Owl is a nocturnal hunter who often roost in dense foliage, where their camouflage can make them hard to find. Luckily, I spotted this owl roosting in a marsh a...

It's my pleasure. Every week I get new great stories to tell. Last week was my first time with a vulture, so I got to learn how they behave when a new human comes poking around them. I get to see animals up close that I didn't even know we have in my state like minks, flying squirrels, and the oth...
