No one is denying anyone access to the internet and a computer. And no, it shouldn’t be a human right, that’s ridiculous.

The alternative that they currently have is there’s no toilet paper. Not that they’ve run out - it’s not even an option. Would you rather have the option to get toilet paper by watching an ad/paying when you forgot to bring your own wipes, or not have that option and have no way to wipe? Pretty ea...

You’ve never been to China, have you?

Comment technology

China is a whole other world than western countries. Having access to toilet paper, even paid access, in a public restroom is not common.

China still has restrooms where you literally squat then piss and shit onto the floor, with hoses at the exit for you to wash your feet because of the nature of what you’re doing. There’s no toilet paper in them at all, you have to make sure you take your own in there along with a way too dispose of...

You’re using the wrong address, that’s how it’s user error. If you just use the Plex app you wouldn’t have this issue either. Were you watching media on your Plex server machine through a browser instead of just opening Plex, and you typed in a url in the browser?

I’ve heard this as well, but in doing this they would either make a significantly smaller and cheaper one that isn’t outputting 5x the power required, or they’d do a deal with the local councils/government to provide lower for them as well. This “study” is comparing the cost of 80 units of power g...

Net zero organisations have shown a clear agenda against nuclear, which is ironic considering it’s the cleanest and most reliable power generation method, as well as taking up the smallest footprint with the least environmental disruption. Offshore turbines require insane amounts of concrete, stee...

I know I’m right when your only reply is insults.

It’s pathetic propaganda. You know what’s even cheaper? Coal! Or just going 100% gas! So if it’s really about cost then the answer is zero renewables.

The “analysis” was done by “Center for Net Zero”………definitely not biased at all…….lol Also offshore wind is one of the most environmentally destructive methods of power generation.

Op doesn’t know what he’s doing, otherwise we wouldn’t have this thread. JellyFin can’t be securely exposed to the internet.

Sep 26, 2025

So now that you know the problem was user error, why exactly are you still switching to jellyfin?

I dont have to prove the negative, its on you to prove that they can. Even if it was up to me though, the OS prevents apps that have been disabled from running. *AOSP’s documentation says this.* Again - show Google it happening and you’ll be an instant millionaire. Why haven’t you done it already...

Because OP doesn’t know what he’s doing? Or because you like opening your server to the internet without any authentication?

User error, at least you figured it out. It’s always free to stream in your own network.

So just buy the stuff and do it. If they get the package, ask for forgiveness, then continue doing it.

I live on acreage, so I can do the same but with animals in my region. That’s besides the point. What you’re saying is just….walking, sitting, and looking. You can do that in the city, just at different things.

Yet they don’t mention anywhere that you can self host it free of charge, so for people who have never heard of it before have no way of knowing that you can. Not only that, but the only mention of self hosting says you still have to pay! It’s deceptive.

Go tell Google, they’ll pay you millions in big bounties for how Israel is doing this. Unless of course you have zero evidence that app developers can do this in Android…… Yeh thought so.

It has everything to do with short term memory. These words wouldn’t be getting committed to long term memory lol I also grew up before mobile phones and the internet.

Yeah I’ve just seen that, pretty dodgy on their part if you ask me. Going by their website it’s impossible to use it without paying, they even say that self hosting has a subscription cost. GitHub is usually where you get linked to from official websites.

You might want to change your website then, because it doesn't say that anywhere. Like.....anywhere at all. Subscription costs are mentioned literally everywhere that you look for anything to do with installing/setting it up. ![](https://lemmy.net.au/pictrs/image/7722a494-ba6a-45ff-8fa7-4fd7fe24e5...

> Nothing stops you from making up a sentence the way I did. You’re shown a string of 12 random letters and you will get $1000 if you can repeat them from memory tomorrow. You can’t make up a weird memorable sentence in a few minutes with $1000 on offer? Idk about you, but most of us could use the e...
